Racing & Pools
Racing is the core of the HORSY experience — where preparation, skill, and luck collide. In HORSY V2, the race mechanics build directly on the solid foundation of V1, but now with deeper strategy and NFT-based participation.
To enter a race, players must own a HORSY NFT. This is your ticket to the stables — without a horse, there’s no entry. Just like in V1, each betting pool opens up to participants and begins a countdown once a minimum of 5 players have joined. When the countdown ends, the race is triggered. If the pool fills up to 15 players before the countdown finishes, the race begins instantly. This balance ensures races start quickly while still allowing for last-minute entries and strategic timing.
From our observations during HORSY V1, it became clear that $HYPE was by far the most popular and active token for betting. To keep the experience focused and to encourage active race participation from the start, HORSY V2 will initially launch with $HYPE as the sole bettable token, divided across four active race pools. Each of these pools runs independently, allowing multiple races to take place in parallel and reducing waiting times during high-traffic moments.
While the interface may look simple, the race engine behind the scenes is anything but. Once a race begins, a smart contract calculates the outcome using a combination of each horse’s base traits, trained stats, and any active race boosts or consumables the player has applied. A controlled degree of randomness ensures every race has that unpredictable feel, — without compromising fairness.
Importantly, all race logic is handled fully on-chain. That means no off-chain manipulation, no centralized control, and no surprises — just fully transparent, verifiable outcomes that anyone can inspect via the HyperEVM explorer.
Racing in HORSY V2 is about more than just picking a horse and clicking a button. It’s about knowing your horse’s strengths, choosing the right moment to enter, and sometimes taking calculated risks for big rewards. With only one token, four pools, and real stakes on the line, every decision matters.
